We are committed to respect the individual’s right to data protection and privacy. This also applies to the handling of personal data. Therefore, we act in accordance with the data protection laws of the Federal Republic of Germany and the data protection regulations of the European Union. In the following, you will learn how we handle your personal data and in particular which personal data is collected, processed and used by KEGON for which purposes.
- Scope of application
- Personal data
Personal data is individual information about personal or factual circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. The basic personal data is your name. In addition, however, your gender, date of birth, address, profession, e-mail address and IP address, for example, are also considered personal data if they are associated with your name or can be assigned to your name by us using the means available to us. On the other hand, non-personal data is data with which the determination of your actual identity is impossible or at least requires considerable effort. This includes, for example, the aforementioned information if we receive it anonymously or under a pseudonym and therefore cannot assign it to a natural person.
- Principle of anonymity
When using KEGON AG's websites, you remain anonymous unless you voluntarily provide us with personal data by placing an order (e.g. to book an event).
- Collection, processing and use of personal data
4.1 For each of your visits to the KEGON AG websites,
we automatically collect data on which IP address is assigned to your computer, which browser and which operating system you use and which KEGON AG pages you view. This data is only stored on our web server until you leave the KEGON websites again.
4.2 Apart from that, we only collect, process or use personal data from you if you voluntarily provide us with this data and this is permitted by law or you have consented to this. We use the personal data provided by you exclusively for the purposes communicated in this data protection declaration or explicitly agreed with you.
4.3 Your personal data will not be passed on, sold or otherwise transferred to third parties. Anything to the contrary shall only apply if this is necessary for the processing of the notified or agreed purposes (e.g. forwarding of event participant data to licensing partners, print shops, hotels, logistics companies or training organizers) and is permitted under applicable data protection law without your consent or if you have given your explicit consent. For each event that KEGON conducts, KEGON creates a list of participants in which the title, first name, last name, company and email of the registered participants are printed and hands this out to the trainer before the beginning of the event.
5.1 If you place an order or make a booking on the KEGON websites, we require your title, first and last name, company, address, if applicable a different billing address and the VAT ID of the company for which you are placing the order, as well as your e-mail address.
If you book participation in an event, we also collect the name and e-mail address of the participants.
In the context of a booking or order, your IP address as well as the date and time of the transaction are also stored to be able to provide evidence in the event of misuse of the e-mail address used.
5.2 We use Pretix and Stripe for the booking and payment processing of trainings. Accordingly, the privacy policies of Pretix and Stripe apply in addition when booking trainings and must be confirmed before the booking process is completed.
5.3 The data specified in sections 5.1 and 5.2 are collected, processed and used by us in order to process and execute your order or booking.
5.4 You can revoke your consent to the storage and processing of the data at any time within the framework of the statutory provisions (for contact persons, see section 15). Your data will then be stored for as long as and to the extent that we are obliged to do so within the scope of the statutory retention obligations, or we still require your data for the implementation or processing of an existing contractual relationship. Your data will be blocked for other purposes during this time.
6.1 Through our blog, you can actively participate in the KEGON community by commenting on blog entries. Before each comment on the blog, we request your name and e-mail address as required information. If you use the comment function of the blog, your name, e-mail address, IP address, date and time of commenting will be stored to provide evidence in case of misuse of the name or e-mail address used.
6.2 Your name and e-mail address are collected, processed and used by us to provide you with the comment function of the blog. Without your consent, your name and e-mail address, which you provide for the use of the comment function of the blog, will not be used for any other purposes. They will not be passed on to third parties.
6.3 All comments on the blog are stored by us permanently. Your comments will be processed and used by us to make them openly available to all users of the KEGON websites. All comments are thus freely and publicly accessible on the Internet.
6.4 If you have consented to the transfer of your data to us as described above, you have provided the following declaration of consent: "Yes, I would like to use the comment function of the KEGON AG blog and agree to the data protection declaration in this regard. I can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future."
6.5 You can revoke your consent at any time within the framework of the legal provisions (for contact persons, see section 15). Your data will then be stored for as long as and to the extent that we are obliged to do so within the framework of the statutory retention obligations. Your data will be blocked for other purposes during this time. Should you exercise your right of revocation, your comments in the blog will remain unaffected. They will continue to be stored and made publicly available on the Internet.
- Contact form
7.1 If you contact us via the contact form, you agree that your message with your provided contact details may be processed and used by us for the purpose of responding and contacting you.
7.2 We will process and use the data transmitted in the process only to process your message and respond to you. A transmission to third parties will not take place.
7.4 You can revoke your consent at any time within the framework of the legal provisions (for contact persons, see section 15). Your data will then be stored for as long as and to the extent that we are obliged to do so within the framework of the statutory retention obligations, or we still require your data for the implementation or processing of an existing contractual relationship. Your data will be blocked for other purposes during this time.
- Correction, blocking and deletion of data
According to the applicable data protection law, we are obliged, upon request, to correct, block or delete the data stored about you. In such a case, the correction, blocking or deletion of the data will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of § 35 BDSG. For this purpose, please contact the person indicated in section 15.
In addition, you can also view and delete the stored cookies at any time in the security settings of your browser and restrict or prohibit the acceptance of cookies. Certain functions of the KEGON websites cannot be fully used after rejecting cookies.
9.3 The content of the cookies is encrypted to prevent third parties from gaining unauthorized access to the data contained therein.
9.4 When using third-party providers on the KEGON websites (e.g. YouTube videos) or in the case of a link, third-party cookies may be used without our explicit warning. In the security settings of your browser, you can view and delete the stored cookies at any time and restrict or prohibit the acceptance of cookies.
9.5 You can view, renew or change your current preferences for cookie use on our sites at any time here:

- Use of social media plug-ins
We currently do not use any social media plug-ins on the KEGON websites.
- iframes and embedded content
We use iframes (inline frames) on the KEGON websites to play embedded content from the following providers:
When you visit a KEGON website with one of the iframes mentioned above, your browser will establish a direct link to the provider's servers in order to transfer embedded content from there to your browser. This content is integrated into the KEGON websites via iframes, so that it is displayed as a kind of mini web page in the KEGON websites that you visit. You will not be able to see that you are browsing two websites at the same time. The Internet address of the provider is not displayed. You can recognize YouTube videos by the typical red play button with a white triangle, vimeo videos by the typical blue play button with a white triangle as well as the vimeo lettering. The provider of the embedded content, which is displayed to you via the iframe, is informed by the direct connection to your browser that you have visited the corresponding KEGON website.
There you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and settings for protecting your privacy.
- Salesforce and Pardot
Our website uses Pardot Services, an analysis tool from salesforce.com, inc, The Landmark @ One Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. A maximum of two cookies are set by Pardot Services. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of the use of the website. The cookies set are a "visitor cookie" and a "Pardot App session cookie". The "Visitor Cookie" generates an identification number that is used to recognize the browser of the website visitor. The identification number is a generated numerical code that has no meaning outside of Pardot Services. All cookies receive only the generated number code. We also use Pardot when registering for our e-mail service. Emails sent with the help of Pardot use tracking technologies. We use this data to find out what topics are of interest to you by tracking whether our emails are opened and what links you click on. We then use this information to improve the emails we send you and the services we provide.
We store and process the data we collect with our processor, Salesforce. Salesforce stores data primarily in the US and has the required EU-US Privacy Shield certification to do so. Salesforce's internal data protection rules for processors have been approved by the European data protection authorities.
If you wish to prevent tracking by Pardot, you can do so by changing your cookie preferences (see 9.5). However, this may lead to certain restrictions in the functions and user-friendliness of our offer.
- Google Analytics
The KEGON websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, by activating IP anonymization on KEGON websites, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of the KEGON websites, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You can prevent the use of these cookies by changing your cookie preferences (see 9.5).
You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting the data that you generate on KEGON websites and that is stored in the cookie by activating the link below. An opt-out cookie will then be stored on your computer, preventing future collection of your data when you visit KEGON websites (however, this does not apply to other websites you visit and other browsers you use on the same computer): Google Analytics Disable. This alternative is particularly suitable for mobile devices. If you want to use this protection feature, do not delete the opt-out cookie. Otherwise, you will lose the protection provided by this opt-out cookie until you reinstall it.
Google Analytics has been enhanced on KEGON websites with the code "anonymizeIp". The use of this code leads to an anonymous collection of your IP address through so-called IP masking. The last octet of your IP address is set to zero. For IPv6 addresses, this affects the last 80 of the 128 bits. This still happens in the working memory before the data is written to the hard disk (see also support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052).
For more information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by Google Analytics, please refer to the privacy statements of Google on their websites. The following websites are known to us in this regard:
- IT security
We take various technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. For example, your data is stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public. When transmitting personal data during the booking process via the Kegon Academy website, a so-called Transport Layer Security (TLS) (formerly "Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL)") encryption is enforced to the acquiring server system of www.kegonacademy.com. This means that communication between your computer and the servers of the KEGON websites takes place using a recognized encryption method that is considered secure in its current version (currently TSL version 1.2, 128 bit). If your browser supports TSL, the transmission of personal data is protected by this function. In this case, most browsers will indicate whether the security protocol is supported by displaying a short dialog box or a graphic icon. You can get more information from the help function of your browser.
- Right to information and questions about data protection
On request, we will be pleased to inform you whether and which personal data about you are stored by us. If you wish to exercise your right to information, have questions about this data protection declaration or our data protection practices on the KEGON websites, please contact our data protection officer:
