What is the ASPC?
The Advanced SAFe® Practice Consultant (ASPC) is an additional qualification from Scaled Agile Inc. for existing SAFe® Practice Consultants (SPCs). This qualification serves to deepen knowledge and gain extended competence in SAFe® implementation.

What are the requirements for the ASPC?
In order to participate in the ASPC training, the following requirements must be met:

• Successful certification as a SAFe® SPC, version 6.0 (by attending an Implementing SAFe® 6.0 class and passing the associated exam).
• Active membership in SAFe® Studio

What happens if I do not fulfill these requirements?
If you have an older SAFe® SPC certificate (version 5.0 or 5.1), there is the option of a SAFe 6.0 enablement within SAFe Studio. This allows the SPC certificate to be updated to version 6.0. An active membership in SAFe® Studio is required for this.

What happens if my SAFe Studio membership has expired?
The membership can be reactivated at any time by logging in to community.scaledagile.com and paying the corresponding annual fee. Afterwards, all SAFe Studio content as well as the SAFe 6.0 Enablement and access to the ASPC will be available.

Is the ASPC a multi-day course like Implementing SAFe®?
No, the Advanced SPC is a modular training program that is spread over several days or four weeks. It comprises

• Self-study units (“SAFe Skills”)
• Moderated interactive units (“SAFe Modules”)
• A final format (“SAFe Learning Lab”) After completion, an online exam can be taken to obtain the SPC Advanced badge.

How exactly is the ASPC structured?
The ASPC learning path consists of the following modules, all of which must be completed:

• Self-study units (“SAFe Skills”)
• Moderated interactive units (“SAFe Modules”)
• A final format (“SAFe Learning Lab”) After completion, an online exam can be taken to obtain the SPC Advanced badge.

How exactly is the ASPC structured?
The ASPC learning path consists of the following modules, all of which must be completed:

• SAFe-Skill: Writing Effective OKRs (approx. 1h)
• SAFe-Module: Developing Sustainable Transformation Strategies (approx. 4h)
• SAFe Module: Excelling in Lean Portfolio Management (approx. 4h)
• SAFe Module: Engaging Leaders (ca. 4h)
• SAFe Module: Building a Culture That Drives Relentless Improvement (approx. 4h)
• Exchange format “Learning Lab” (approx. 4h)
• Exam (online exam)

In which format do the modules take place?
KEGON currently offers the ASPC in two different formats:

• Spread over several weeks: One module per week on a fixed day
• Compact block: All modules bundled together within one week

What happens if I can't make an appointment?
As all modules take place in a fixed group (cohort), attendance should be continuous. If a date is missed, the module in question can be made up for in another cohort in exceptional cases. However, all modules must be completed before the Learning Lab. Individual cases should be discussed directly with the trainer.

Do I do all the modules on my own?
No, only the SAFe skills module is self-study. The modules take place together with a trainer and the learning group (cohort). The Learning Lab is also moderated.

Which trainers are authorized to conduct the ASPC course?
The ASPC course may only be delivered by SAFe® Practice Consultant Trainers (SPCTs). The number of authorized SPCTs for this course is currently limited. However, KEGON has at least one authorized SPCT who can conduct this course.

What are the benefits of the ASPC?
The ASPC provides in-depth knowledge of the key topics and challenges of SAFe transformation in large organizations. In addition, the training provides advanced knowledge in lean portfolio management, change management and leadership that is not included in any other SAFe training.

For whom is the ASPC training worthwhile?
The training is particularly suitable for:

• SPCs with at least one year of experience
• SAFe consultants who have accompanied several ART launches
• Agile coaches who work in larger companies
• Freelancers and smaller consulting firms who want to expand and prove their SAFe knowledge
• SPCs who want to hold an advanced training (LPM, RTE, APM, SASM)

How is the ASPC certificate renewed?

Passing the ASPC exam extends all other SAFe certifications by 12 months. After that, a renewal fee for ASPC/SPC applies.
