Large Solution SAFe® (LSSP)

The Large Solution SAFe® training is a two-day intensive course focused specifically on large-scale SAFe® configurations involving more than 500 participants in a single development effort.

The training covers Solution ARTs and their roles — Solution Management, Solution Architect, and Solution Train Engineer — as well as the integration of traditional corporate units and suppliers, and the integration of regulatory, architectural, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments.

Agile Release Trains (ARTs) with 50–125 participants form the foundation of every SAFe® implementation. However, in highly complex initiatives — particularly those with a high hardware component, such as in medical technology, industrial manufacturing, or automotive — often several hundred to several thousand employees are involved. For this purpose, SAFe® has introduced the Large Solution level, which bundles multiple ARTs into a single Solution ART. This training covers how this works in practice, and which new roles, artifacts, and mechanisms SAFe® proposes. Since there is notably no Solution ART Planning event (unlike PI Planning at the ART level), the new Roadmapping Workshop format is introduced and experienced firsthand by participants through a practical simulation.

The training also addresses how relevant standards in complex contexts — such as ISO 26262 in the automotive sector — can be implemented in an agile way.

The training requires SAFe® knowledge and initial SAFe® experience, and is aimed in particular at customers from the medical technology, automotive, and industrial sectors, as well as anyone interested in the topic.

As with other SAFe® courses, the training includes numerous exercises and activities to deepen understanding and provide hands-on experience.
