The revolution of work: adapting HR to the new world

  • Agile Organisation

The world of work is changing rapidly, and with it the demands and expectations on human resources departments (HRs). Complexity and change required constant creativity and adaptation. There is no one-size fits all solution. HR also needs to be continuously improved, which requires lifelong learning for HR staff.

In addition, knowledge work increases the importance of people in an organisation. The shortage of skilled workers means that employee satisfaction is fundamental to the success of a company.

IT was one of the first professions to be confronted with such conditions. This gave rise to what we today often call "agility" or "new work". The concepts (or values and principles) of this are now being applied everywhere and experience is being gained.

Also in HR.  Agile principles can be integrated into HR practices to promote continuous improvement, rapid adaptation and flexible working methods. Agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban and Design Thinking can offer specific benefits in HR management, retention and development.

Experiences from agile applications in other business areas can be used to identify best practices and accelerate the adoption of agile ways of working in HR. Overall, agile approaches and tools offer valuable tools to adapt HR practices to changing needs and play a proactive and effective role in shaping the future of work in an ever-changing environment.
