Extension of the Examination Period for Basic SAFe® Certifications from March 2026 Including a Second Attempt

After attending a SAFe® training course (either in person or remote) with KEGON or another training provider, participants can take an online examination and, upon passing, obtain the corresponding SAFe® certification including a SAFe® badge. Now there are new rules regarding your exam.

After attending a SAFe® training course (either in person or remote) with KEGON or another training provider, participants can take an online examination and, upon passing, obtain the corresponding SAFe® certification including a SAFe® badge.

From the end of the course, a period of 30 days is available to take the examination. One free exam attempt is included in the training license.

Scaled Agile Inc., as the examination authority for SAFe® basic courses, has now changed this regulation as follows:

  • The examination window is now 60 days from the end of the training.
  • Participants now have two free exam attempts within this examination window.

This new rule applies to the following SAFe® basic courses, provided the exam is taken after March 30, 2026:

  • Leading SAFe®
  • Leading SAFe® for Government
  • SAFe® for Teams
  • SAFe® Scrum Master
  • SAFe® Product Owner / Product Manager
  • SAFe® for Hardware
  • SAFe® for Hardware Teams
  • SAFe® DevOps

For the following additional SAFe® training courses, the previous examination rules remain unchanged:

  • Implementing SAFe®
  • Advanced SAFe® Practice Consultant (learning path)
  • SAFe® Release Train Engineer
  • SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management
  • SAFe® Agile Product Management
  • SAFe® for Architects
  • SAFe® Advanced Scrum Master (learning path)
  • SAFe® Agile Software Engineering

The following rules continue to apply:

  • The examination window remains 30 days from the end of the training.
  • One free attempt is included for successfully passing the exam.

After the end of the first examination window, a second examination window is available from day 31 to day 60 after the training. During this period, the examination window can be extended by an additional 14 days by clicking the Extend button on the respective day.

This results in a maximum possible examination period of 74 days from the end of the training.
