From Frogs in Safety Vests and Recyclable Bicycles – How to Introduce Employees to AI in a Lightweight Way

Many employees in companies as well as private internet users have access to various AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Google Gemini. However, in most cases, the use of AI does not automatically lead to increased profits or revenue for organizations.

While some employees already use AI to optimize their personal tasks, many still show hesitation or lack the necessary knowledge to make intensive use of AI tools.

This is exactly the challenge addressed by the two KEGON consultants and AI specialists Svenja Suhre and Manuel Marsch, who developed the KEGON AI Kickstart Workshop.

Through numerous playful and interactive elements, participants are introduced in a lightweight manner to topics such as AI fundamentalsthe history of AI, and general AI concepts. Building on this foundation, three consecutive prompting competitions enable several groups to rapidly develop a new product with the support of AI — including a marketing slogan, a product announcement, and an advertising poster.

Alongside the creativity of the AI, the participants’ curiosity and joy of discovery are quickly ignited. Within a short time, innovative product ideas emerge, such as a “safety vest for frogs at dusk” and a recyclable bicycle.

After a brief recap on good and bad prompting techniques, the trainers addresse potential risks associated with AI-generated results, including bias in training data and hallucinations (the invention of false information).

A key “aha” moment for participants in the last KI workshop was an image prompt depicting a family traveling by car on vacation. Common AI systems repeatedly generated images of light-skinned, middle-aged parents with two school-aged children — clearly not representative of the global population.

Legal frameworks relevant to AI usage in companies such as the GDPR, the EU AI Act, and copyright law are also discussed and explained using practical examples.

After gaining hands-on experience with initial AI tools and their applications, participants identify recurring (and often boring) routine tasks in their daily work. Together, these tasks are transformed into concrete AI use cases using the group’s creativity and knowledge.
One key realization was that today, no one needs to spend hours manually creating slide decks for important meetings. Instead, Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint can generate an initial presentation within minutes after a short information briefing — which can then be fine-tuned just as quickly.

After a relaxed six-hour session covering a colorful mix of AI-related topics with many interactive and analog elements, all participants of the KI workshop felt well equipped to apply AI in their daily work and were eager to put their new knowledge into practice the very next day.

Participants particularly praised the informal atmosphere and lightweight delivery of the content, noting that hardly any traditional PowerPoint slides were used.

KEGON offers this workshop both as a public training and as an in-house format, available on-site or online. Learn more.
