SPC training and participation in an ART and a PI are strongly recommended for participation in the training. In a remote setup the learning content will be taught over 4 days.
Learn in the SAFe® RTE training how you as a Release Train Engineer set up an Agile Release Train (ART), coach them and continuously create business value with your train.
In this 3-day advanced course you will deepen your understanding of the role and and tasks of the Release Train Engineer (RTE) within a SAFe® organization. Through a practice-orientated training format with many activities, you will learn how alignment of your teams leads to optimize the delivery of end-to-end value in a value stream.
To participate in this training we recommend that you have a SAFe® Scrum Master or SPC certificate and have already attended at least one ART and several PIs.
In addition, participation in the official role-based online training course for Release Train Engineers is recommended in advance:
Learning Content
- Familiarisation with the role of an RTE and their tasks and responsibilities
- Application of the SAFe® principles in practice
- Organizing the ART
- Preparation and implementation of PI planning
- Working with other ART roles, the teams and the ART stakeholders during PI Execution
- Promoting continuous improvement by establishing feedback loops at all levels, including an Inspect & Adapt workshop at the end of a PI

How does the certification take place?
Certification takes place after the training and successful completion of the online examination.
How do I register for the online exam?
The respective email address of the course participant is required for registration for the online examination. This will be requested with the list of participants before the training. Activation or admission to the examination usually takes place on the last day of the training.
How do I get my access data to the SAFe® Community Platform?
Participants will receive their access data to the SAFe® Community Platform of Scaled Agile, Inc. based in Boulder (USA) and to the online examination by email.
When do I have to have completed my online exam?
Participants can take the online certification exam within 30 days.
Is participation in the examination compulsory?
Participation is optional.
How do I get my certificate after a successful exam?
After passing the exam, the certificate is made available for download in the participant's personal user profile.
